The Kriniko Difference

Rebuilt From Within, Never Overdone

AesPlla works with your body rather than adding instant bulk. Dr Kris uses it to restore the collagen framework that ageing takes away, so your face regains its support and you still look like yourself.

Whole-face assessment

Dr Kris looks at where volume and firmness have been lost across your face, not just at individual lines, and plans treatment to restore balance.

A tailored treatment course

The number of vials and sessions is matched to the degree of volume loss and your skin, so you receive only the treatment you genuinely need.

Complete skin strategy

AesPlla rebuilds structure. For expression lines or skin texture, it can be combined with anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers or regenerative treatments such as polynucleotides.

Cheek & Temple Volume Restoration

The cheeks and temples are often the first places to hollow with age or after weight loss, making the face look tired and drawn. AesPlla gradually rebuilds the collagen in these areas, restoring soft, youthful contours without an obvious "filled" look.

Because support is restored to the mid-face, AesPlla can also help soften nose-to-mouth lines indirectly. Results build steadily over the weeks after each session, giving a natural lift that looks like well-rested you.

Skin Firmness & Quality

From our mid-30s, we lose around 1% of our collagen each year, leaving skin thinner, less firm and more prone to fine lines. AesPlla is spread across broader areas of the face to thicken and strengthen the skin itself.

This makes it a popular choice for patients whose main concern is laxity or crepey texture rather than a single line or feature. It can also improve the appearance of shallow acne scarring as new collagen fills in from beneath.

Lower Face & Jawline

Collagen loss in the lower face can deepen marionette lines, soften the jawline and allow early jowls to form. AesPlla restores support along the jaw and around the mouth, helping the lower face look firmer and more defined.

Results are subtle and progressive, making AesPlla well suited to patients who want to tackle sagging without a sudden change. Dr Kris will advise whether it should be combined with other treatments for the best outcome.

Your Treatment Journey

What to expect, step by step

Knowing what happens before, during and after your AesPlla appointments helps you feel at ease and set realistic expectations.

01

Medical consultation

Dr Kris reviews your medical history, assesses volume loss and skin quality, and explains how many sessions you're likely to need. You'll have time to consider your plan before going ahead.

02

Your AesPlla sessions

Numbing cream is applied and AesPlla is injected with a fine needle or cannula. Each session takes around 30–45 minutes, with a course usually of two to four sessions spaced about four weeks apart.

03

Aftercare & massage

Mild swelling and tenderness settle within days. You'll be shown how to massage the area at home (often five minutes, five times a day, for five days) to help AesPlla spread evenly.

AesPlla Results

Gradual, Natural and Long-Lasting

Initial swelling fades within days. A fresher glow is often noticed from around four weeks, with volume and firmness continuing to build for up to three months after your final session.

How does AesPlla work?
AesPlla is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible material that has been used in dissolvable medical stitches for many years. It is supplied as a powder that is mixed with sterile water before treatment. Once injected, the fluid is absorbed within a few days and the PLLA micro-particles remain in the deeper layers of the skin, where they trigger your body's natural healing response. Over the following weeks and months, fibroblast cells produce new collagen around the particles, which are slowly and safely broken down by the body. The result is a gradual restoration of volume, structure and skin firmness that comes from your own collagen, rather than from product sitting under the skin. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, PLLA does not attract water or give an instant result, and it cannot be dissolved, so careful assessment and technique are essential. Suitability is always confirmed at your medical consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your AesPlla Questions, Answered

What is AesPlla?
AesPlla is an injectable collagen stimulator made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Rather than adding instant volume like a hyaluronic acid filler, it encourages your skin to produce its own new collagen, gradually restoring volume, structure and firmness for a natural-looking result.
How long does AesPlla last?
Once your full course is complete, results commonly last up to two years, and the manufacturer reports benefits of up to three years in some patients. Because the collagen is your own, results fade gradually rather than suddenly. Dr Kris may recommend an occasional maintenance session to keep results going.
How many AesPlla sessions will I need?
Most patients need a course of two to four sessions, spaced about four weeks apart. The exact number depends on how much volume has been lost, your skin quality and the areas treated, and Dr Kris will confirm this at your consultation.
When will I see results from AesPlla?
Some fullness is visible straight after treatment, but this is the fluid and settles within a few days. The real results appear gradually as new collagen forms, often noticeable from around four weeks and continuing to improve for up to three months after your final session.
Does AesPlla hurt?
Most patients find treatment comfortable. Numbing cream is applied beforehand, and local anaesthetic can be mixed with the product. You may feel some pressure or brief stinging during the injections.
What are the side effects of AesPlla?
Common side effects include swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising, which usually settle within a few days. Less commonly, small lumps or nodules can form under the skin. Careful preparation, correct injection depth and following the home massage routine all help reduce this risk. Dr Kris explains all risks in full at your consultation.
What's the difference between AesPlla and dermal fillers?
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers add volume immediately and are ideal for shaping specific features such as the lips, chin and jawline. AesPlla works gradually, stimulating collagen to restore overall volume and skin firmness, and its results typically last longer. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, AesPlla cannot be dissolved. Many patients benefit from one or a combination of both.
Is AesPlla the same as Sculptra?
Both AesPlla and Sculptra are poly-L-lactic acid collagen stimulators and work in a similar way. They are different brands with their own formulations, and Dr Kris will recommend the product best suited to your skin and goals.
Who is not suitable for AesPlla?
AesPlla is only offered to adults aged 18 and over, and is most often used from the 30s onwards. It isn't suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, where there is active infection or inflammation in the area, for people prone to keloid scarring, or for those with certain autoimmune conditions. It is not used in the lips or directly around the eyes. Your full medical history is reviewed before any treatment is offered.
